How the lane works
A flap barrier controls a pedestrian lane with two panels — usually acrylic or glass — that retract into the pedestals when a valid credential is presented, then close again behind the person. Because the panels move fast and out of the walking line, a flap lane sustains a higher rate of people per minute than a rotating arm.
